Hola Everyone!

Well, it's almost August, and we're hard at work getting things ready for NaNo 2003. Over the next month or so, we'll be doing some backstage tinkering to the site and then migrating the whole shebang to our own server.

The dedicated server thing is unbelievably cool. From what I understand, having your own server means you get all sorts of extra perks like an on-site jaccuzzi and wine bar. We'll see how it shapes up. If the site happens to disappear for a little while in the next month or so, don't worry -- it's probably because wine bar employees have done something kooky to the power supply.

I'm also really excited to announce a new addition to the NaNo staff! Julia Cardis (who you can meet on the staff page), is a really nice, really funny lady who lives in Chicago. She's a freelance writer with two books under her belt, and she'll be helping out with emailing and grantwriting, and will also be in charge of making sure the NaNo store doesn't catch fire.
